A pleasant ride along the canal from Ardrishaig to Crinan

1.5 to 2.5 Hrs | 17 miles / 27 Km | 232 Ft / 71m

With expansive views over the Moine Mhor and the Inner Hebrides, follow the waters of the Crinan Canal across the Knapdale peninsula and between the villages of Ardrishaig and Crinan on this flat, traffic free towpath.

Beginning at Ardrishaig, this out-and-back route follows the flat, traffic-free towpath alongside the pleasant Crinan Canal. Still used as a short-cut between the Clyde and the Atlantic Ocean, see boats navigate the canal’s bridges and locks, or watch for birds from the hide overlooking Moine Mhor nature reserve.

The route also incorporates plenty of picnic sites and refreshments stops throughout.
